WELCOME TO
THORNBURY CHURCH OF CHRIST
Welcome to the friendly church on the corner. We’d love to have you join us, even if you don't believe what we believe, we hope that you'll find a place to belong.
We see ourselves as a community of people who gather in obedience to God’s call to all people. We understand ourselves as shaped by the Biblical stories, that call us to be Christ-centred and prayerful whilst being fully engaged in our local context. We serve others through caring for people and their needs, providing a safe place to learn and grow so that we are better-equipped to address the issues that are confronting us and the wider community. We aim to educate and equip those willing to use their gifts in service and witness to those around them.
We are an independent church affiliated with the Churches of Christ movement in Victoria and Tasmania.

What can we put in the pantry?
Unopened non perishable food eg: dry pasta, cans fruit/veg, sauces, soups, noodles, flour, rice, beans, biscuits, long life milk, cereal etc.
Toiletries eg: tooth paste, soap, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper
Cleaning products eg: dish soap, washing powder, spray cleaners,

unwrapped food (other than fruit/veg)
random items that would usually be given to an op shop eg: furniture items, books etc.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE CAFE
THINK LOCAL COMMUNITY CAFE
Think Local Community Cafe is a non-profit social enterprise set up to service the caffeine needs of the Thornbury community. We use only the best Fairtrade organic coffee, roasted by Just Planet and have a range of ready to eat sweet and savoury goodies, for breakfast on the go or a refuel to get you through the day.
Starting with a mobile coffee cart, we have grown into our food trailer at the front of the Church (390-398 St Georges Road Thornbury). As a social enterprise, our desire is to channel all profits back into the community, initially in the form of community meals programs before expanding to other community care initiatives.
